Wine Cooler Repair in La Jolla
La Jolla has more wine storage per kitchen than almost anywhere else we work, and on wine storage a two-degree drift is a fault rather than a tolerance. The cabinet is rarely the valuable part. If one zone holds and the other climbs, the compressor is fine and that zone's evaporator, fan or damper is not. If the panel says the number you set and the bottles feel warm to the hand, then the sensor is reporting from a pocket of air the circulation reaches and the racks are sitting somewhere else. We take the reading at bottle level, in the middle of the rack, and that single measurement usually decides the repair.

The condensation complaint is close to a La Jolla signature and it is worth explaining, because it gets misdiagnosed constantly. A wine cabinet with a glass door has to hold that pane above the dew point of the room outside it. In a kitchen on the coast during a gray, saturated morning, the dew point outside the glass is high. If the pane heater circuit has failed or the door seal has stopped sealing evenly, the glass drops below it and fogs, and the owner reasonably concludes the cooler is over-cooling. It is not. It is a door and a heater problem in a humid room, and the fix has nothing to do with the sealed system or the thermostat setting.

Do you have to pull the unit out of a La Jolla kitchen to work on it?
Almost never. Sub-Zero built-ins are serviced where they stand: condenser and fan behind the lower grille, evaporator behind a rear panel in the compartment. These kitchens are finished around the appliance — stone countertops clearing by a fraction of an inch, original wood floors in the older Village and Lower Hermosa houses. Sliding a loaded built-in across those does more damage than the fault.
